SCATEC partnered with ADVEC in 2025 to conduct comprehensive grid code compliance and grid impact studies for the Obelisk Project an ongoing 500+ MWp Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Photovoltaic (PV) facility in Egypt.
The assignment covered in-depth assessments of short-circuit behavior, load flow, reactive power capability, power quality, and transient performance to ensure the safe and efficient integration of large-scale renewable generation into the Egyptian national grid.
Leveraging advanced modeling and simulation tools, ADVEC engineers performed detailed electro-magnetic transient (EMT) studies to predict system performance under a wide range of operating scenarios. All analyses were fully aligned with Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) requirements, enabling the project to secure regulatory approval. This study plays a vital role in strengthening the project’s operational stability and advancing Egypt’s broader renewable energy ambitions.
