Solariz and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) partnered with ADVEC in 2025 to deliver the complete EPC scope for the reverse power protection system at Misr Cement’s 20 MWp self-consumption solar plant in Qena. The project addresses the critical requirement of preventing reverse power flow from the solar facility into the national grid during periods of low industrial demand—an essential safety and operational benchmark for decentralized generation.
The assignment includes the full engineering and design of the protection circuits, relay coordination studies, and control system architecture to ensure stable, compliant, and secure plant operation under all load and generation scenarios. ADVEC’s scope covers complete implementation: procurement, installation, configuration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and final commissioning of protection relays, circuit breakers, and the integrated control system. This ongoing project strengthens the plant’s operational resilience and ensures full alignment with EETC’s technical and safety requirements, contributing to Egypt’s broader transition toward reliable industrial-scale renewable energy integration.
